TOMATO

Tomato (science. Solanum lycopersicum) - one-year plant from cells family (Solanaceae), similar to the potato. It is used by human and animals. Originating from Central, South and southern parts of North America - from Mexico to Peru.

The tomato is a vegetable that in diet is used fresh, canned, as juice dressing (ketchup - tomato sauce) or as a spice. Its fruits are rich in vitamin C, carotene, vitamin B1 and vitamin E. Besides vitamins, in it are also found significant amounts of manganese, iron and copper.
